Filio Force development specialists will tell you about simple cybersecurity tips. Of course, from a programmer’s point of view, they are too simple, so this text is addressed to businessmen, directors, managers and other people whose activities are far from IT.
Even if you have a very small business, this does not guarantee protection from hacking and other cyber problems. You don’t realise how much valuable information your company has: customer base, personal data, bank account and card details, social media accounts, etc. Not following the rules of internet security can lead to big problems. This is something that no one wants to happen. Business owners want to grow their business and increase their profits. However, it is worth remembering that the beginning of success in business is not only a clear organisation of working time and competent planning, but also security. Filio Force Canada monitors company traffic and checks for possible risks on a quarterly basis.
A simple online payment for a batch of printer paper can lead to an account leak. And then there’s the loss of your customer base, financial and tax records… A sad prospect. To reduce the risk of this happening, you should follow a few simple cybersecurity rules.
1. Train your staff. Draw up a simple and clear checklist of what they can and cannot do.
2. All company accounts should only be linked to company email accounts. Never allow subordinates to register anything that belongs to your company with personal email addresses or phone numbers.
3. Monitor and regularly review employee access rights. If an employee no longer performs a role, they should be denied access to data related to that role.
4. Back up important data regularly. This will help protect your information in the event of a disaster. You simply remove all files from storage and continue working.
5. It is important to conduct regular information security audits. Even with fully competent staff, a customer database can be leaked directly from the site due to vulnerabilities, and the network can be compromised by almost anything, such as software that is not updated.
In future publications, Filio Force’s IT company experts will look at cybersecurity measures from an information technology perspective, rather than from a layman’s point of view.
