ChatGPT is a neural network that is able to recognize text, understand context and have a coherent dialogue with the interlocutor. HR experts from Filio Force Canada told us how a neural network can help a programmer when looking for a job.
ChatGPT is not the first neural network of this type. In 2018, Google demonstrated its assistant that also understood humans and was context aware. Right at a presentation, it made an appointment for a haircut over the phone, and the person on the other end of the line didn’t even realise he was talking to a robot.
The key difference between ChatGPT and Google Assistant is that ChatGPT does not look for an answer on the Internet, but compiles it from its own knowledge. And it got them from the datasets it trained on. Therefore, ChatGPT cannot come up with something new – it operates only with the information it knows. This is the first important nuance of this neural network.
The second nuance is the number of errors that ChatGPT makes. When the chat gives an answer to your next question, it is the bot’s attempt to guess the answer. This is the working principle of any neural network. Its answers are just the result of a mathematical calculation based on weights and probability. Therefore, you should treat its answers with a healthy dose of scepticism. If you need accurate information, double-check the answers with reliable sources. ChatGPT is not an artificial intelligence or higher intelligence, but a tool for searching and compiling information, said the managers of Filio Force company.
So, how can ChatGPT help you get a job interview? Before the interview itself, it would be a good idea to understand what you might be asked. A neural network can compile a list of typical questions that are often asked in a job interview. Write a request: ‘I am planning to go for an interview as a Phyton developer. What questions might I be asked?’ We get a list of questions. If you feel that there are not enough questions or they are too generalised, clarify your request in subsequent messages, for example, specify the level of the position you are applying for.
If you notice a question you don’t know the answer to, ask ChatGPT to answer it. But if there are a lot of questions like this, it’s an excuse to take a step back and strengthen your theoretical base. Ask ChatGPT to create a study plan for you. Write in your request, ‘I want to learn Python. Please give me a step-by-step learning plan with the topics I need to learn’. If you need not only a plan but also materials, write like this: ‘Add links to YouTube videos to each point in the plan.’ By constantly refining the request, we can get a plan that fits 100%.
During the training with this plan, you may find that some topics will not be completely clear, said the developers of Filio Force development. For example, you have no way of understanding what recursion is. You go to the chat room and ask: ‘I’m a novice programmer and I don’t understand what recursion is. Could you explain it to me with examples?’. If the examples are too complicated, ask him to explain in simple words or add analogies from real life.
By using a neural network as a tool for searching and aggregating information, you can gain a significant advantage over other candidates.
The key is to remember four simple rules:
